Melinda Sordino chose a tree. She is destined to express her emotions through the tree. Each student must pick a slip of paper from the box as I circulate the room. This object or idea will become your personal responsibility. For your object or idea you must:
1. define it (50 words)
2. write five diary entries describing a day in the life of that object or idea. Each entry must be at least 40 words long
3. write a radio commercial to sell your object or idea. The commercial must last at least 20 seconds
4. EXTRA CREDIT: A PIECE OF ORIGINAL ART THAT BRINGS YOUR OBJECT OR IDEA TO LIFE

In an essay of at least 350 words, you must respond to the following Critical Lens statement:
“A good movie, like good literature, is not merely a vehicle for entertainment; it is itself a work of literature.”
1. Interpret the statement
2. Agree or Disagree
3. Defend your opinion using two movies
4. You MUST discuss at least THREE of the following:
a. character development
b. themes
c. quotations
d. camera angles OR juxtaposition of scenes
e. setting
f. motifs
g. music
OPTION B: General Discussion
Choose your favorite movie and discuss it using a through g above as reference points. Use at least three of the elements above in your discussion. This discussion must be in essay form and at least 150 words long.
OPTION C: Create Your Own Movie
In a well developed paragraph of at least 150 words, outline the movie YOU would make. Assume a Hollywood budget and access to all things Hollywood. Who would be your stars, what would be the setting, themes, etc...In short, what would a - g above look like in YOUR film. Have fun. Make me laugh!
